Esperaré impaciente a que Paul Thomas Anderson haga su magia, que para mí es sacar oro de sus actores.

Siempre quedo impactado con las interpretaciones más que con las historias en sí de este cineasta.

Mix together The Big Lebowski and [Robert] Altman's The Long Goodbye and turn it into a two-and-a-half hour PT Anderson epic and you're getting close to the awesome experience of Inherent Vice. Even Joaquin Phoenix's performance has echoes of '70s Elliott Gould with a touch of The Dude. But don't get me wrong, the film is its own animal. A drug-fueled detective story filled with great psychedelic music and beautiful, grainy cinematography. It's both hilarious and confounding at times. But Anderson does an incredible job of making the incredibly complex plot both comprehensible and entertaining. Even though he's apparently said he's still tinkering, it felt like a finished film and will definitely go down as one of my favorites of his.

El artículo también dice que PTA probablemente no enseñará la cinta en Cannes ya que aún no ha terminado la etapa de postproducción. Más bien la presentará a Telluride/Venecia/Toronto.

Estoy seguro y apuesto por Reese Witherspoon. Sé que se redimirá de "Una rubia muy legal" + "Ésto es la guerra" con lo que arrastró al puto Tom FUCKING Hardy - que no me engañen, un hombre sólo hace ese papel por una mujer - mediante esta película y Wild.

No me daré por vencido con ella. No quiero otra Jennifer Aniston effect. Si lo hizo perfect en la película de #19:

P.D: Robert Downey Jr. demasiado viejo... ¿en sí o para el papel que tendría que interpretar? ¿Se llevan mucho él y Phoenix? Imdb me chiva que 9 años.

Con las pintas que lleva Phoenix tengo la impresión de que su personaje va a ser bastante icónico en el futuro.

Describing his latest work as “his most comedic and anarchic film since Boogie Nights,” it is said to be so “overstuffed with visual gags and gimmicks that the filmmaker said he was inspired by slapstick spoofs like Top Secret! and Airplane!.” [...] Anderson adds, “We tried hard to imitate or rip off the Zucker brothers’ style of gags so the film can feel like the book feels: just packed with stuff. And fun.” Star Josh Brolin backs up the notion, saying, “On most movies, you play with different levels and there’s a foundation and a ceiling. Here, there was no ceiling. It was no holds barred. Paul would say: We want to go Tom and Jerry on all this.”

To gain a footing for the noir aspects, he rewatched The Long Goodbye, Kiss Me Deadly, The Big Sleep and even North by Northwest to find that “plausibility rarely mattered as much as the pleasure of the filmmaking.” [...] While his first draft was without narration, the filmmaker revealed that he added one through the character of Sortilège (Joanna Newsom) and also vastly changed the ending to one that is “outrageous,”

Through all the gags, however, Anderson says there’s still “a sadness underneath it all.” He adds, “In the editing room, all the time, I was just trying to be a surrogate to his compassion and his concern for the American fate. Has America really lived up to its potential? Let’s keep hoping.”

Luis Martínez del diario El Mundo: "Indiscutiblemente la mejor película del año, un monumento"

Qué buena pinta tiene; ya tenía ganas de ver a PT Anderson haciendo comedia de nuevo. Y a Joaquin Phoenix se le ve sueltísimo; se agradece verle cambiar de registro.

Y que la película esté inspirada en Top Secret y Aterriza como puedas me parece lo más.
