Key se va de Ever

After playing through Challengers Korea in the spring and re-qualifying for the LCK, Ever continued to struggle in the summer split, finishing ninth with a 5-13 match record despite a notable upset over SK Telecom T1. Key took part in a majority of ESC Ever's games, playing in 33 games but only winning 12 of them. The team's other support player, Jong-sup "Totoro" Eun, played in 12 games and won four.

At the 2017 Spring Promotion, ESC Ever were able to retain their spot in the LCK. Though they lost to Kongdoo Monster 3-1 in the winner's final, they swept CJ Entus 3-0 in the loser's final to keep their spot.

The team's most recent competition was at KeSPA Cup 2016, where they defeated CJ Entus 2-0 in their Qualifying Round to move onto the bracket. They defeated Worlds Grand Finalist Samsung Galaxy 2-1 in the quarterfinals, but lost 2-0 to Kongdoo Monster in the semifinals to finish in 3rd-4th place. Ever did not start Key in any of their games during the event, exclusively using Totoro as their starting support.

According to Riot's contract database, all but one of ESC Ever's player contracts expired on Nov. 19. The exception was jungler Hyun-woong "Bless" Choi, who is contracted until next fall.
