Etapa de hoy

Hoy se disputa la primera etapa de la presente Vuelta España, una contrarreloj por equipos de 7'2 km. que se desarrolla por la ciudad de Málaga.

Para los que no estén muy familiarizados con el ciclismo, explicar que la contrarreloj por equipos, como su nombre indica, enfrenta a los corredores de cada equipo (los 9 a la vez) a los demás, en una lucha colectiva contra el cronómetro y que en la línea de meta, el tiempo que cuenta para los que lleguen agrupados, es el del 5º corredor.

En esta modalidad, no hace falta que lleguen todos agrupados, pero tienen que llegar un mínimo de 5 corredores, ya que será el 5º hombre, el que de tiempo a los demás.

La última crono por equipos disputada, fue la CRE Pro Tour Eindhoven.

Gran trabajo Frantxu.

En cuanto a la etapa de hoy el CSC se ha salido y Carlos Sastre se merecía portar el maillot amarillo aunque solo fuese por un día debido a una dilatada y exitosa carrera encima de la bicicleta.

El Illes Ballears ha realizado el segundo mejor tiempo, dejando bien colocados a Pereiro y a Valverde, aunque las diferencias han sido despreciables.

Ahora veremos las sorpresas que nos puedan deparar las jornadas llanas (caidas, abanicos...), aunque con las fuerzas intactas y el control de equipos como el Milram o el Davitamon, de Petacchi y McEwen respectivamente, es poco probable que ocurra algo así, salvo que una caida masiva o un viento atroz anime a otros equipos a meter cuneta (recordemos que la ONCE de Manolo Sáiz era especialista en eso, y un año a Escartín y a Rominger les cayeron siete minutos en una etapa en Albacete, y hace menos años a Mancebo un abanico le hizo abandonar cuando ya perdía más de 10 minutos y era cuarto en la general).

Esperemos que no haya contratiempos graves, es decir, que si se producen cortes o abanicos que sean limpios y no producidos por caidas. Por lo demás deseando que llegue la quinta etapa.

Decir que este año he disfrutado como pocos, porque aunque no haya ganado Valverde, ha ganado el mejor y se ha visto mucho espectaculo por parte de los corredores.
